Education and Surgical Training
Educational background, residency training, and board certification are the first things to consider when choosing a plastic surgeon. Dr. Perry graduated from Rutgers College magna cum laude with high distinction in zoology. In 1981, he received his MD degree with distinction in research from the Albany Medical College of Union University.
Surgical Training: He trained in general surgery at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Hospital and in burn surgery at the New York Presbyterian/Cornell Medical Center. He then trained in plastic surgery with one of the all time greatest plastic surgeons, Thomas J. Krizek, MD, FACS at the University of Chicago where he was Chief Resident in 1987. Afterwards he took extra training in a cosmetic surgery fellowship with the renowned plastic surgeons (and inventors of the chemical peel) Drs. Baker and Gordon in Miami.
